I won the “who knows her best” contest because I knew her spirit animal was a Goose! BLT Social Distance style. We met at 6 different locations and had Jimmy Johns cater our BLTs. Celebrating BanksBerry Birthday month! Rusty went to visit Glenn. He was put on hospice a couple of weeks ago. Poor Glenn. Covid has been so brutal for our seniors. No visitors or family allowed to visit. It breaks my heart. Cory and Rusty went on a fun bike ride. Grandpa used to give all the grandkids $2 bills. So, Rusty gave one to him signed from all of us. We got to help deliver Thanksgiving dinners to refugee families. I think it’s such a brave thing to come settle in a new country. It certainly isn’t an easy choice. I wish our country treated them better and gave them the support they deserve. Decorating the tree! This is Halle’s last time to put the star on top before she goes to college! Thanksgiving all alone. We decided to do our own Turkey Day 5k. Josh was way ahead of us and Halle opted to sleep in after working a couple of late night shifts. We all got to choose one activity for the family to do on Thanksgiving. Halle chose to make Oreo turkeys. It was fun! Everyone helped with dinner. Josh made the Jello salad. Rusty did the sweet potatoes. Blake did the mashed potatoes and Halle made the pumpkin cheesecake. It’s nice to have helpers in the kitchen! Rusty’s activity was a murder mystery–Who killed Santa’s elves. We think we were missing a few things, but had fun none the less. For my activity we played Zoom games with the Cornell Fam. If we can’t be together, this is the next best thing. I want to remember how much I was touched by Sarah’s words. Walking with someone through grief is a sacred experience. Sharing a shattered heart and broken expectations melds hearts together for life. We love the Rowberry kids just like our own. We are the lucky ones to know and love this incredible family. Hope we get to walk our whole lives on either side of Sarah!
