Outside every stateroom there is a small silver fish. Usually this fish serves to hold receipts, notes, or daily itineraries during your cruise. But, if you participate in a Fish Extender Exchange group you hang a bag or special holder on your fish. This “extender” serves as a mailbox for special surprises delivered from other people in your fish extender group. We joined an exchange group via Facebook, but there are also groups hosted on DISboards. Our group consisted of 10 cabins. So, we made gifts for them, and they made gifts for us. I highly recommend participating. It’s does require work and preparation, but it adds such a fun magical touch to the trip.
It was always such a fun surprise to come back to our room and see our fish extender full of fun goodies.
We also had such a fun time delivering our fish extender gifts all over the ship! Here’s what we made:
For the boys: A fun Pirate themed beachball. Purchased on Amazon. Gift tags from Picturethemagic.com
For the little girls: Headbands with a ribbon princess. These were my favorite. Halle and I had such a fun time making them together. Instructions from grossgrainfab.com.
We made Belle, Rapunzel and Sleeping Beauty.
For the older girls we did Captain Mickey hair ties and Minnie Mouse nail decals. Nail decals and fold over elastic purchased on Etsy.
All the women got a Christmas Ornament to hang on their tree to remember this cruise for years to come 🙂 I purchased the cut file on Etsy and then Kari helped me cut the vinyl on her Circuit.
And the men got a fun game of Disney Villain Bingo to play with their families. Printed from artsyfartsymama.com
