Guardians of the Galaxy Halloween 2024
We had a hard time coming up with a theme this year! We couldn’t land on something everyone was excited about. One Sat evening, as we were discussing, Max and Blake were playing ping pong in the basement. All of a sudden Max calls up–“What about Guardians of the Galaxy?” Everyone was immediately sold, especially Rusty. It’s his favorite movie AND he got to be Starlord. Luke was a little reluctant, but as soon as we told him Rocket has a huge gun, he was fully on board.
I have to say, I think this Groot costume is my best work yet. I watched a million YouTube videos, searched cosplay forums, and enlisted the help of the very talented Meredith Maddox to make it happen. It was hours and hours of work, but I think I nailed it. I always wish we had about 25 parties to attend, because it’s SO MUCH work for just a few pics and an hour of trick-or-treating. At least the pics last forever.
We all got a little teary realizing that this was Josh and Claire’s last Halloween with us. Next year it will just be Max, Jane, Luke and Blake. Someone said, “That’s barely enough people to even be considered a group costume.” STOP GROWING UP, KIDS!
Per usual, everyone looked absolutely amazing and a fun time was had by all.
When the kids reported a house giving out full sized Butterfingers, Sarah and I decided you are never to old to trick-or-treat. The lady was a good sport, but I think she was a bit taken aback. Ha ha.
The Real Slimy Shady also made an appearance at our Halloween Festivities.
