September 2024 recap
It stayed hot, hot, hot this Sept! Here’s a little bit of what we’ve been up to:

Annual Color Run
Blake is KILLING it in Flag Football this season. It’s so fun to watch him dominate the field.

Rockies Game with a little Oktober Fest on the side. Why has no one informed me how fun Rockies games are? We loved it! Charlie Blackmon was retiring and there was such a fun fireworks show in his honor at the end of the game.

Our Ward Split. We are now part of the Coal Creek 2nd ward. It was part of a whole Stake realignment. I have been so sad about it. I already miss my friends so much.
Last week of the Coal Creek Primary
Josh got to go to Utah and visit Adam and finish up his scuba certification at the Midway Crater
I took myself on a birthday hike at Golden Gate State Park.
Cross Country is going so well! Blake gets faster and faster with every meet.

Labor day weekend fun! We rented the giant paddleboard again. It’s just the best.
We also FINALLY made it to Water World! Best day.

Decalibron! 4 14ers in one day. Here’s Rusty’s journal notes: Up at 540 Saturday monring. Josh is up .Blake is staying home because he’s sick. Poor guy missed so much! Tara decides to come! Yay! I’m so happy she came.. Meet up with delimonts and then we are on our way with ezra james and josh s. Tara was loving the leaves on the way to fairplay and alma. Kenosha pass was incredible. We got to alma just about 830 and started the long hike. Up democrat we went. No problem, everyone was awesome. Down democrat and over to cameron. Cameron is a big flat peak so not super cool. then out over this sketch spine to Lincoln. This was the coolest peak because it was craggy and there were two beautiful mountain goats on the peak. At this point everyone is stoked because now we just have to go home and might as well go home over bross and complete the decalibron! So we did! Over bross and then down bross (so steep) back to the cars. So exhausting. took like 8 hours but was amazing. And most of that time we were about 13k feet. And tara was incredible! She is so tough I was so impressed. Super cool. Drive home was hard, cramping and tired but we did it. Kenosha was beautiful. Stopped in fairplay at OTTOS for some fried chicken sandwhiches which were actually delicious and not too heavy. I would stop there again. We made it home and were too tired to grocery shop so ordered instacart in the bath. We soaked in tons of salt. Josh just took a quick shower and was off to friends. He’s so tough he was totally fine like no problem easy peasy. I was so proud of my cool family. That was a lifetime accomplishment like a marathon or a triathlon or something like that. The decalibron is no joke.

SENIOR HOMECOMING! How is this happening? It’s all going by too fast. These cool cats had a really fun time.

One year older, but not any wiser. It was a really fun birthday this year. Our friends took Heather and I down to Denver on a super fun self guided graffiti tour in RiNo. It was the absolute best and I felt so seen. We had an incredible, gourmet picnic lunch at a park first and then wandered around looking at all the fun murals.
And then Rusty surprised me after Sunday dinner and all my friends brought desserts and came to celebrate my birthday. It was such a sweet, thoughtful, fun surprise.
