Josh Mission Email March 23: Conversation View 1 to go 🙂‍↕️

Hey guys!

I hope life is good wherever you are, I only have one week left here in the MTC! Ill leave here on March 31st.

As always we’ll start with the Chinese report. It’s still progressing which is great, I’m learning a lot and getting some good practice solidifying what I already know. The only problem is that reality has set in, and in like 9 days I will be trying to have full conversations with native speakers. YIKES. I trust the process though, I ran into a friend of mine from BYU who served Chinese speaking in Montreal with 0 prior experience and he gave me the run down of the first few months again. It’ll be tough at first, but the language does eventually come. 

Other than that, I don’t have a whole ton to report. This was week 7 here, and we’ve got a solid routine going. That’s not to say I’m bored, there’s so much I’m learning, my district is fun, and we’ve found good ways to break up the days. 

We did go to the temple again this week, and our teachers came with us which was dope. I am really going to miss them, but I mostly just feel bad for them because they’ll never teach another district as cool as us 🥱. A lot of the people going to Taiwan don’t have their visas yet, so they’re getting reassigned here in the states temporarily. So far one is going to Nevada (maybe speaking Chinese? Apparently Vegas has a large population of speakers) and another is going to DC 🔥‼️She would also probably get to do Chinese work, but more than likely her visa will be here in time. I did meet 3 other people going to DC at the same time as me, so I’ll for sure have some travel buddies 🙌.

 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.”

We’ve been working on having charity and figuring out how to gain it, and it has been so great. I know we can all have more charity towards everyone, and I know it will bless our lives immensely. I also know that because Christ wants us to have charity, He will help us gain more as we turn to Him.
