Blake Breaks his nose
We had planned on staying in Utah for about 10 days in case Josh got his mission call, but life had other plans in store. On Saturday evening Blake was at a Stake dance and collided with another kid during “Run Away from Love.” He was pretty sure he broke his nose, but we had to wait a few days for the swelling to go down a bit before the dr could tell. Carlie, being the best aunt ever, took Blake to the ENT and sure enough, it was broken. It could only be set within 7 days, so I flew home from Utah to be with Blake for his surgery. He did great! But, the recovery was worse than the initial break! He got so swollen and bruised. I always admire Blake’s self confidence. In the car right after his surgery he was glassy eyed, had a giant plaster taped to his face and a gauze mustache to catch any blood. He FaceTimes with Cadence right away. Add him chomping chicken nuggets to the mix, and you might say he’s looked better. But did he care? Not one bit.

He recovered over the weekend and was feeling good enough to go to church on Sunday. Poor kid was pretty swollen, but luckily not in much pain. Rusty stayed the weekend in Utah and got lots cleaned up and done at his parents house, and he and Ralph also hit up the BYU football opener against Portland. The score was 69-0. And the entire internet was joking that the score broke the honor code.
