Manly Beach
We all needed a bit of a sleep in this morning. So that’s exactly what we did! It was heavenly. Then we packed up for our beach day.
We went to Google for lunch. The Sydney campus is really beautiful! And as always, I wonder how anyone at Google can focus long enough to work. They had a super fun arcade and a maker space with 3D printers, sewing machines, art supplies, etc. and a Lego room!
It’s always fun to explore the international offices. And Rusty loves to get that badge check in on his map.
We then took the Ferry over to Manly. I wish we had more time here—our late start in the day meant we were kinda crunched for time. Manly downtown is perfect beach vibes. I could not believe how crowded the beach was! Maybe even more than Bondi. It’s a really lovely spot with huge pine trees that line the beach.
We scored a great shady spot and then hit the water. The kids had so much fun playing in the waves. I had so much fun soaking in the sun and reading my book. Rusty and Josh also went over to the ocean pool to swim some laps. It was kinda gross.
Blake was in his chill zone on the beach, and the rest of us went to find the Queenscliff tunnel. It’s a cool little tunnel that leads out to some rocky cliffs right on the ocean.
For dinner we had fish and chips at Fishmonger—they were very delicious—sort of an elevated fish and chips experience. We had shared, so we also grabbed a few pizzas to eat at the harbor and watch the sunset.
Sunset was underwhelming so we jumped back on the Ferry to get home and rested up for NYE!
