Steamboat Spring Break ski trip

Nat and Michael and the boys met us in Steamboat for a few days of Spring skiing. We had the best time! The snow was crap, but that didn’t stop us one bit. The kids all skiied so hard, and my boys did their first double black diamond (Simon and I found a different way down the mountain.). We loved exploring the town, eating fries on the slopes, and enjoying the beautiful spring weather. We celebrated Leo’s birthday and crowned him “best skiier in the family.” Rusty is a close second;)

On the way into town Josh spotted a sign advertising $7 cowboy hats. We knew we had to find them. And find them we did! We thought it would be so funny to find a way to attach them to their ski helmets. I was waaay to tired for such things, but Nat and Michael hit up walmart and found some elastic that worked wonders! It was the best day seeing all those cowboy hats zooming down the mountain.

On our second day we decided to stay for night skiing! I didn’t know how long anyone would last. We ate dinner in the ski village, and then hit the slopes. We thought even if we just did 3-4 runs it would be worth it. WE SHUT THE PLACE DOWN! It was Josh and Blake’s favorite part of the trip. We were just past daylight savings time, so it stayed light until around 7:30. We got to watch the sunset while we were skiing down the mountain. It was just incredible. I wish I had pics of the boys, but they took off and left us in the dust.
