Aug Wrap-up

I had some witty, insightful comment about the changing of the seasons, both weather and life that I couldn’t wait to share on the blog, but I forgot it. Seriously. I worry about my brain.

Kids are back in school, the mornings are turning crisp, and peach season is in full swing. What’s not to love about Aug?

First things first. BRACES OFF!!! 26 months that just flew by. I can’t get over how much she grew in those two years. Her teeth look spectacular.

We finally made it to Krispie Kreme to get our good grade donuts. Better late than never. We made a day of it and went to the Peter Pan Park and got pizza on our way home. Love summer days!

GIANT snake in the front yard! Rusty captured this pic, and I’m sure glad I wasn’t there to see it. I was afraid to walk by that bush for a week!

Cousin time! We don’t get to see Brett and Kami nearly as much as we’d like. Kami was racing the Boulder 70.3 again and so we had everyone over for dinner, and then the kids stayed for a sleepover. Kami was amazing, again. She beat her PR by like 20 min!

Later that night we decided to finally check out the Erie racetrack. About .25 seconds after we paid for our tickets it started POURING rain and the whole thing was cancelled. We’ll have to try again another time.

Sunday night bike rides and trying to snap an epic picture. I think it resulted in Jane crashing her bike.

Blake saved up all his shave ice money for a set of golf clubs. The boys had a great time on the driving range and then golfing hole #1.

Pazookies with friends!

The anticipation of finding out who your teacher is rivals Christmas morning. Both boys are thrilled with the outcome. Mrs. Little for Blake, and Mrs. Martus for Josh. Although, Josh is NOT thrilled to be back in the portables this year.

Our little garden is doing great this year. Lots of squash and zucchini, a few strawberries and it looks like we’re going to have more tomatoes than we can handle if they’ll ever get red.

Mom bladders don’t jump.

When you are 13 and blood draws are a regular part of you life because of your dumb disease and you want a Frosty from Wendy’s and Curly Fries for Arby’s–you get it.

I really feel like this picture sums up this entire summer. Allll screens, allll the time.

Sunday Selfie!

Fill your own cup at 7 Eleven. I made Rusty take them. I couldn’t feel like a good person exposing them to that much sugar in one setting 😉

Dining Al Fresco #2. This time at Tag and to belatedly celebrate Sarah’s birthday. The weather decided to spice up the evening with a little rain. Luckily it didn’t last long.

Mediterranean Board for Sunday dinner. This was definitely a favorite! Followed by a Bike ride to the cemetery.

Kids back in school = mom’s day at the pool! I had the place to myself. It was awesome. I also went Paddleboarding at Union last week and seriously felt like I was the only one on the whole reservoir. Loved it.

We tubed the Boulder Creek, another summer first, with the McBrides, McDowells and Schriners. We all would have preferred the water to be a bit higher. Our tailbones are black and blue! But, tailbones aside, it was a super fun day.
